PVT/S Ladakh Rigjung Senior Secondary School was established in 1995 by Venerable Chonet Dorjey, founded with a noble vision of uplifting the weaker sections of society through holistic and value-based education. Guided by the principles of compassion, discipline and academic excellence, the school has been dedicated to nurturing young minds and empowering students from diverse and remote regions of Ladakh, and is managed by a private, unaided organisation. It is located in a rural area — Choglamsar, Tashi Gatsal, in the Leh block of Leh (UT Ladakh) district.
The school serves students from both nearby and remote regions of Ladakh, offering arts and commerce streams from Class XI onwards. Around 85% of our students come from far-flung areas of the region and are supported through sponsorship-based initiatives. The school is co-educational and has an attached pre-primary section. English is the medium of instruction throughout, alongside Bhoti and Hindi. Over the years, the school has steadily expanded its infrastructure, recently adding a newly furnished academic block to provide a better learning environment.
The school occupies a private building with 63 well-maintained classrooms, plus additional rooms for non-teaching activities. The campus is equipped with functional sanitation facilities for both boys and girls, a playground, and safe accessibility features including ramps for differently-abled students. A well-stocked library and a computer-aided learning laboratory, equipped with functional computers, support modern teaching and learning practices.
